    E-mail program for customer base?

Can anyone recomend an e-mail program, or method to put our customer base into a mass mailing?
I just found out we are not following up with our customers like we should,,
I know I could enter everyone manually into a distribution list of Pmail, but is something better?

    thanks

see if your ISP has a list serve or find one the database driven mass mailing utils that the spammers use....

    That would be my reccomendation....

I'm sure there are others tho that would be esaier to implement...

Where is your customer database now? If it is in a custom built application exporting to a third party mailer my not be easy.

    I'll offer a possible solution anyway. www.act.com

It is a customer management tool currently in use by some of our salesmen. You can do follow-up emails, letter, etc. The only drawback is that requires a MS office setup. You can use the limited word processor they include if you are on something else (we are a Lotus Smartsuite office here). Also, it wants you to use MS Outlook as the mail client. So if you've already managed to switch everyone to PMAIL it won't work. We have PMAIL so our users aren't using the e-mail portion.

Another software that is also designed for customer management is called Goldmine. I know it exists but it has been so long since I've looked at it I don't know anything specific. Website is here

Another option is to contact you software provider for where your customer data is stored and see if they are working on an e-mail component. Some are. Some will write something for you for a fee. This option will probably be Microsoft orientated though.
