Intellimouse 5.0 and Firefox 1.0

Ever since I installed MS Intellimouse 5.0 I can't get the middle click close tab function to work in the firefox browser. Is there a fix for this?

my ms wireless optical mouse 2.0 works. did you install the mouse driver software? mine has the wheel button set to autoscroll. if that doesn't help, you can pick program specific functions.
