Spell-Check in Outlook Express

Fellow members:

I used to have "spell check" enabled in Outlook Express. I changed HDDs, and "spell check" is no longer available.

Someone told me I needed to have Microsoft Word loaded in order for "spell check" to work in Outlook: is this right? Or is there a "hidden" option somewhere that I simply cannot find?

Thx.

Brangwen,
From Outlook Xpress help,

Quote

To check the spelling in messages
Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office 95 and Office 97 programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available.

Another mystery solved! I can't believe I missed that ...

I use WordPerfect for all my documents. I'll load MS Word just to activate my "spell-check!"

Thx.

The above is the default method of getting a spell checker. There are some third party sharewares that will do it also.

I think I'll just load MS Office 2000 on a distant drive ... or, I can continue to cry over my mispelt words!
