Blubster!!!
Boy, did I do a dumb thing! I was looking for a Christmas song to download. I found the website with Google. The software and download were free, so I downloaded it and got the music. I knew this would make me visible, as the software download process asked me to identify the folder for my shared music. I went into my program manager to delete the software when I was finished downloading the music, but I cannot find it. I get up to 20 pop-up ads an hour and I don't even need to have my browser launched, I have DSL so I'm always connected and the software actually launches my browser to send me ads. I'm attaching a screen print of the Blubster Ad software, which I can't remove either, since it can still find the Blubster software, even tho I cannot find it anywhere. I searched all my folders, I deleted the .exe and scanned my c: & d: and cleaned everything out and rebooted, but I still cannot get rid of Blubster. I'll say this much - they named the software right - I feel stoopid because I downloaded Blubster - it should be a verb - "Oh, sorry, I blubstered". Does ANYONE know how to get rid of Blubster? Appreciate your help, as always. Debbie.

Hi. I ran Ad-aware, and Norton 2005 Anti-Virus and Norton Anti-Spam. I don't have any
Spybot software, is there any out there that you recommend (doesn't need to be freeware, just reasonable. Thanks.

Spybot Search & Destroy = FREE
Spyware Blaster = FREE
Are you running the latest version, AdAware SE Personal? If not, I recommend an update. What did a tornado sound like before freight trains were invented?

Might want to see what programs you are running at startup. If you disable them, maybe you'll be able to delete them. GO to Run>msconfig>startup (in XP). End any suspicious processes (check their names on google). Now to be able to delete the file, make sure it is not running in the background. Look at highjackthis and make sure no strange programs are running. Finally, if none of that works, look at this site: they say they have some sort or removal tool.

THANK YOU cryptoguy! I could successfully delete Blubster and remove the Blubster Ad Support software. I will keep these instructions - I did not know how to see what programs were running at startup. Have a wonderful holiday - you just made mine a lot better!

Look at the previous posts, spybot is a good choice as mentioned above.
Also, run msconfig to disable any start up programs so that you can remove them.Asus M4A785TD-V EDO, Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 Gig DDR3 1333 Win7 64 Home
