| Add /Remove programs
Hi,
I'm have a strange problem, not sure if it's adware related or what? I've picked up some adware for AOL(Internet Service $9.95) I want to remove it. When I go into my control panel, add /remove programs I can only scroll down so far to see some of my programs. past this point everything is blacked out ??
Running Windows XP Pro...... |

Hmm... no offense but I'd get rid of AOL first off... probably the worst thing to put in your computer along with Kazaa and ME.
Second, how about a screenie? Hit your Prt Sc button and paste it to paint. Might be more helpful to see what's happening on screen.
And this may seem stupid... but did you try a restart?

Not sure If I have replied to this, but I don't use Kazza or AOL, never have, never will......
But I managed to pick up some adware from AOL that I can't remove and I think may have affected my add/remove programs in controlpanel.
Yes tried re- start, here are a few pics of what my control panel, add/remove programs looks like, these images are from the top of the page to the bottom

Have you tried removing it with Ad-Aware or Spybot? |

Those screenshots look weird. First off, notice how small the scroll bar is. That means there's a ton of programs on your computer. I don't know how many programs you have installed, but do you notice any missing programs from the Add/Remove window? That black box probably isn't covering any programs up. At least that's my deduction.
How did you find out you got infected with this spyware? |

Yes, but notice the scroll bar as it moves from addrem1 to addrem4.
I don't have a lot of programs, what you see in addrem1 and addrem 4 are pretty much all my programs. There's just a huge gap between them filled with black and white space
I first noticed the problem about a month ago. I clicked on start to access some documents and noticed 2 new icons
1.Internet Service 9.99
2. AOL for Broadband
I went into Add/Remove programs to see if I could remove them, and that's when I first noticed the problem I havn't noticed any performance changes in my computer It's just wierd |

Hey, I remember that Ad-Aware picks up AOL as spyware. There was a post here about it. Maybe try removing it with Ad-Aware?

Hey, So what exactly did you do to get rid of it? I have the exact same problem.
I was foolish enough to install Kazaa, but have since used every spyware tool I can find to eliminate it from my PC.. IE Ad-aware, kazaa-be-gone, the new Microsoft anti spyware and a few others.
Thanks
