Help! How do I remove a DLL file- newdot~2.dll error at startup

Hi,

I have just finished formatting and reinstalling everything on my pc. I loaded all of the windows xp updates and i installed all the dotNET (.NET) framework files. The reason for this is i am a programmer learning ASP.NET and so need this on my system. When i finished install the .NET framework, i ran the windows spyware remover. This bought up several high threat files and so i removed them. It seems that i also removed a useless .NET file, too. The problem is that at windows startup it tries to run the file that is missing and brings up an error. The error is a minor one and everything runs fine but you can imagine how irratating it is to have a missing file error after having done a full format. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the .net framework but that specific file was not installed and so the error keeps on appearing. I tried to delete all links to it in the registry but that doesn't do anything either.

The message simply states "Cannot run module 'C:\progra~1\newdot~1\newdot~2.dll' ".

Does anyone know how to get rid of this problem?
OR
Does anyone know how to remove a DLL file from the Windows stratup?

Please help me.

I don't want to re-format my pc over something as small as this. It takes forever installing everything.

Thank you,

Shuja.

newdotnet is a spyware program...

look in start >> run >>msconfig>> startup tab and see if it is in there.... iand disable it..

if not

check
HKey local machine>> software >> current version >> run and see if it is in there.. if so delete it...

HI,

in response to osprey4, i'm not sure how but as soon as i installed windows, connected to the internet and downloaded xp updates i ran a spyware program which detected several possible files. I think that some programs have built spyware or simply connecting to the internet allows the spyware to attck.

Not sure really.
