Microsoft Outlook Problem

I'm having a problem sending email on my wife's comp. I have 2 coputers sharing a broadband connection through a router, I've been using this setup for several years. I recently reformatted and reinstalled WinXP on my wife's puter and I cannot get MS Outlook to send email. I have checked the POP and SMTP setups and they are correct. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook and still the same trouble.
Any Input would be appreciated.
And, Yes, I searched the archives first but didn't anyhting too similar. Even Tried MSKB and either I'm a lousy searcher, a good possibility, or I'm the only guy on the planet this has happened to. LOL

Are you getting any error messages when trying to send out your email? Are you able to receive email?

It acts like it's sending the email but it never gives me an error message. What happens is the message just sits in the out box and never gets sent. Hope that helps.
and to answer the question about receiving email, that doesn't seem to be a problem. I get email up the wazoo! I have checked the email configuration and also done the test email status in the setup and it says it's communicating with the SMTP and POP servers. I don't know what's going on.
Yes, I have used this info and password on this pc before, that's what is confusing me.
