Preparing Network Connections... (Restart)

This just started recently. I start up my computer, it loads fine, then it gets to the loading right before you logon and says preparing network connections... then restarts. After it restarts it works fine. It doesn't make any sense to me. Now I did have a virus, but I cleaned it out completely. Any suggestions?

What virus did you have?

Have you tried booting into safe mode?

Try booting without the network plugged in?

The OS is in my Sig, the virus was a plain old trojan only listed as a medium threat, I caught it instantly (I don't think that was it). I will try booting without the network plugged in. Also does anyone know how to repair windows 2000. I don't have te repair floppy disk so...
