XP updates or OS causing file sharing to not work?

Hi everybody!

I am trying to download some recordings (live recordings and speeches) from Kazaa. But, I cannot get anything to download despite the recordings having over a dozen sources. Has XP built anything in to disable file sharing or to make it more difficult? My Win2K machine does not have these limitations...

I should have said that I have Kazaa Ressurection, the spyware free version of Kazaa. I don't want to use spyware versions. Is Bearshare spyware-free?

Nope, Bearshare is loaded with spyware.
In any event, get away from Kazaa. That network is just absolute garbage.

The programs I use are eMule and Shareaza.
eMule is great for big files but terrible for small files. A 700mb file will take 1 day to get. A 3mb song will still take maybe an hour to get.
Shareaza is excellent for small files, ok for big-ish files, and horrible for really big files. A small file (3mb) will download in seconds, big-ish files (maybe 100mb) will download in maybe 2 hours, and huge files (700mb) will never finish.

Both programs are spyware free. Make sure you configure your router properly so people can actually get files from you; we don't want you leeching after all.

actually i said bearshare lite. you can get that at download.com but if u want spywarie then just get bearsharealso at download .com cuz after installing bearshare lite no spyware with great performance.
