How to let an .exe file in?

Hi all,
I'm trying to send an .exe file to a friend via e-mail. He's running Win XP Home Sp2, Norton Internet Security, and NAV. Norton blocks the .exe even if we disable NAV and NIS from the tray. The only way I can get it to work is to kill both of them in msconfig. Is there another way or have I forgotten to disable something?
On the same note, I have always use "Remote Anything" to access and troubleshoot his system. It seems that after SP2 it doesn't work even if we disable all of the security features in the security centre. Any ideas on either or both of these issues would be appreciated.

Tia

apparently, zip files may get blocked by some corporations. if this is a work thing, you may want to use www.rarlabs.com or www.winace.com which are both good programs.

Yes, ZIP files may be blocked, as well as RAR files due to a recent exploit of the compression engine. Best bet is to use WinAce or 7-Zip, compress it in non RAR or ZIP format and then rename the extension ".VXD" as windows will natively prohibit the execution of content within a VXD file so most every AV will let it by. It may eventually become an exploit though but has not yet.
