Changing Windows Login & Boot Screen

I want to change my win XP Login Screen and Boot Screen.....anyone know of good reliable progs without spyware to do this or can anyone give me detailed instructions on how to do it manually....I have some that refer to installing my new loginui.exe file but the file I downloaded is a pick and not an exe. Do I just rename it to loginui.exe or what?

hmm. i think bootxp was suppose to be a good one. i believe i tried it back in the day. might want to check that prog out. i dont even bother with a boot screen anymore thanks to tweakui

I use styleXP for my theming and boot loader. Its not free, but there is a free trial.

I downloaded a new boot screen once, replaced the .ini file (forget the exact name of the file), and then rebooted. Got the bluescreen. Of course, that was a long time ago and I didn't know what I was doing. I had to repair the boot from the windows CD lol.

I think I got it working later with bootxp, like yohon was talking about. But I dont remember doing much. Seemed kinda pointless.

You can use LogonStudio (skins here) to change the logon screen and BootSkin (skins here) to change the boot screen. Both are free programs.
