MSN Messenger and IE

This is more of an annoyance than anything. Here's the deal: Every time I go check my hotmail account, after I log in, MSN messenger starts up by itself, no input from me. I don't want it starting at all (I use it to talk to Storm2k when he's at work ... and no Trillian for me til AOL stops being annoying). Is there any way to stop it from loading? It seems like it's waiting til I use a .NET password or something ...
Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I could uninstall MSN from the system, but I don't want to do that because I do have a use for it occasionally.

Why don't you use Microsoft Messenger to check your hotmail account and then shut it down? That way you don't have to go to the site and log in manually. MM logs you in automatically providing you set it up that way in the options.

Ok, true ... see, I don't use it daily. I have it for when I need it, but it's not like AIM where I'm on 24/7. So the rest of the time I don't even have it running. Actually, I guess I could just leave it running and set the status to away.
