    Server image/ghost

Here is my issue. We have a server "2003 standard edition". I would like to move that config to another CPU. Either by way of image(first choice) or by moving the HDD over to the new machine(2nd choice).

Has anyone ever done this before? or do you know what problems I might face doing this?

This is what the server has:
    Terminal services with 5 licences
    SQL server database
    Active directory

The reason I am trying to get around the reinstall is due to the fact that we no longer have the SQL server software and would have to purchase it all over again.....major bucks.

I was given hope by this post http://www.techimo.com/forum/t136860.html

Yea, what hardware is on the current box, sound, video, lan, modems as compared to the new box? Is anything integrated into the motherboards?

    Hi and thanks,

Yes the hardware is different. Better and faster from Dell! A lot of the stuff is onboard for both systems
