    Terminal Services

    Hi everyone,

A terminal services question for you. I was asked to install terminal services on a Windows 2000 Professional desktop. The requestor is seeking to connect to this W2k Pro desktop via terminal services from his W2k Pro laptop. The information I was able to find indicates I could install the TS client that would to remote to another workstation but not a client that would allow for a workstation to be remote controlled. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

Terminal services cannot be installed on win2k pro desktop. this is a win2k or 2k3 server only service. Now, windows XP pro allows you to enable remote desktop which is based on terminal services. Remote assistance in winXP pro is also based on terminal services. The only thing you can install on win2k pro desktop is the remote desktop client that would enable the workstation to connect to a winXP pro computer or a terminal services server.

you will have to use a third party software like PCAnywhere, like meese suggested.

VNC or Ultr@VNC will work as well.
