    Windows Messenger??????...Grrrr

     
    Guys,

    Please could someone advise me as to why Win Messenger is logging me in on startup when i've removed it using 'msconfig' . But prob is, i don't know i'm logged in until someone on my list appears and speaks to me.......its not running in my applications log in task bar......

    Very confused and annoyed.......any advice would be appreciated....

    same problem happened to me...and i found out u cant delete it which bugs the hell outta me....the only way to get rid of it is to boot into safe mode and then delete the messenger folder that way

    You can rename the messenger folder. That should also do the trick.

    Well you can open Windows messenger and keep it from starting up in the options.

    Also, you can easily remove windows messenger from your computer by entering this string into the run command.

    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
