Desktop Icons: changing text color.....

Anyone know where I can change the color of the text below the icons on my desktop? If so, do you think changing it would change the text of icons in ALL folders?

I used this in Win98 and ME.

I prefer no text and Xp allows this with no 3rd party software.

Isn't there a registry setting or some way to do this without a software program. I just don't like the idea of "mucking" up windows with more software just to change the color of an Icons text. hmmm.

I like your attitude -- and I'm pretty sure it can be done. Mine's transparent, but I think running only 256 colors & no background is the reason. Try this.

I guess I'll just have to do some searching on the subject. I'd hate to install a program just for doing something like that. I'll let you know if I find a "Registry Hack".

Maybe this is closer to what you want?

I thought it was in display properties. I even looked in windows classic theme on XP. That was a little closer, but the color box was greyed out.

Registry? HKEY _ USERS; .DEFAULT; CONTROL PANEL; COLORS.
