Caps lock on boot?
Helping setup a network for a new bank. Does anyone know how to make the CAPS LOCK key come on by default after a user logs in?
I've found a bunch of stuff on the "InitialKeyboardIndicators" reg entry, but changing that to the values specified on microsofts website ("3" for num lock + caps lock on) does not work, only num lock seems to respond. A few other things I've googled say this option no longer works under XP. The teller machines are running XP Pro on a domain of a Windows 2003 server.
I've found some VB script stuff that can simulate the key press, but this doesn't really work all that great. It just alternates the key, thus if caps lock was already on, the login script will end up turning it off.
I haven't found any way to be able to use the "GetKeyState()" VB function to work in the script. I think that VB scripts don't support function declarations?
Just curious if anyone has any ideas
Thanks,

Not really an option, I know some BIOS have settings for NUMLOCK on boot, but that normally gets overriden by windows anyways.
On my machine for example, num lock is on until windows starts loading up at which point it goes off.
Thx for the suggestion though.

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/capslock.html
just make it start as a service and have it run before you log into windows (don't really know how to do that..but i know it's possible...hope it helps! lol)

Hmm, I wrote a VB program to do it (basically copying some stuff I found off google and modifying it a little).
It works fine on my machine (Built it to an exe), but when I try running the executable on another machine I get the following error
"Failed to initalize properly (0xc0000135). Click OK to terminated application."
Any .NET experts around?
