| No Windows Explorer, Please Help!
Just finished installing the Windows Service Pack 2. Upon reboot it starts up fine but then it gives me an error message saying that Windows Explorer malfuntioned and must be shut down. I've got nothing but my desktop wallpaper. I can navigate around by going thru the Task manager and selecting start new task. I restarted and the same thing happened. I booted in safe mode and the same thing happened. I did a system restore and the same thing happened. Unfortunatly I've only got one day to go back as I've been away for 2 months and today was the first time the computer has been turned on so it only has the one restore point. I would like to get this fixed without having to reinstall windows. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Copy explorer from the cd. Otherwise pull the drive, slave it and run virus scan. When none of that works try what all the people below say then eventually give up and format.

What happens when you right click the start button and choose explore?

I fixed the link so it doesn't take you directly to the "if a repair option is not available" |
