    Need help stopping win messenger

i got some windows updates, and sure enough - i have the windows messenger plague once more

add/remove programs shows it as uninstalled
i have outlook express set not to log onto it when i open it

open outlook express, sure enough - windows messenger opens

i know there is a way to stop that bs but i cant remember how

oh, something i just noticed - when i close outlook express, it closes messenger too.. i have messenger set not to run in background, and to not start with the computer..

disabled access to windows messenger through add/remove - no effect

ok, being the patient guy i am, i just deleted the folder for messenger (seems to be fine)
