it has something to do with windows protection trying to stop people with illegal copies of xp from downloading updates....not sure how it works exactly though.... |

yeah windows verification thingy....................
I went to windows updates yesterday, I had to have this thing installed before I got my updates, bothered me a bit, but I paid for mine legally so I didn't care, but it still bothered me

The reason I asked was because I don't see a [WPA add-on] in my manage add-ons. I suppose my next question would be is how do I find it?
By the way Gait Keeper how much did they charge you?
Thanks.

I think what he meant was he paid for his software so it is legitimate not a hacked copy.

jrs is right...i means he paid for xp legally.....so he could download that add on without trouble. (it's free...it's a tool to stop people from getting updates if they have a hacked copy of xp, however it's wicked easy to circumvent..it took less than 24 hrs to crack...poor microsoft.. lol) |

yes that's what I meant, my copy of XP Pro is legit.
ythis verification thing, I didn't want, but had to have, bothers me. what else are they looking at?
I've also heard that I can not just buy a license to use my legit copy on another machine!!
I want to bulid a new machine, so do I have to buy XP again, why not just the license?
also I use Fire Fox, I only open I.E. for the updates. |
