Question
Restoring ICQ files

I've just completed a fresh install of Win98se on a new HD.

Prior to doing so, I backed up the entire ICQ folder knowing that I would need certain files later on. Well, the time has come for me to restore the old ICQ files (contact list, history etc..). But I'm not sure which files need to be replaced.

Can someone help me out ?

What version is your ICQ? ICQ 2001b Bulid #3659 and above will automatically restore you icq contact list. if your version of ICQ didn't restore you contact list, you do one of the following....

1. Copy the contents in 200x folder located in the ICQ directory to the newly installed 200x directory.

2. Copy the ICQ backup you made to the location where the newly installed ICQ will exist and then installing ICQ into that folder...

Im using 2000b NDC.

You once told me that there were about three files that need to be copied over from the old folder. Or something like that ?.

Look in the 2000a folder located in the root of the ICQ directory and copy the files in the folder to the newly installed ICQ directory...

The file names will look something like this:
