Windows XP CPU usage at 100%
Hey all,
I have a client who is running Windows XP Home edition SP2. His machine's System process is running at near 100% constantly. Its NOT the system idle process
.. its just the System process.
He has not installed any new software or hardware recently, and he has AVG running and both ADaware and Spybot come back clean.
Its a Dell, with a 2.4ghz P4 and 256 RAM, not a bad machine, it just CRAWLS with this System running at 100%, and it does so within Safe Mode as well, which leads me to beleive its not a hardware or driver issue.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Can you or your client d/l & run hijack this so you can post a process / application list?

Yea I prob can, the problem is that he has dial up (He is WAY out in the boonies) and I have to call him, ask him to dial up, then remotely connect and do it. I will be away for the weekend, so maybe Monday morning I can have him do that and I can post it.
I know, I did install the Mike Lin Startup CPL and everything looked pretty normal, atleast from the standard RUN areas.
