Security issue, file security
Hey guys.
Quick question....I just installd xp pro on my machine. I turned off simple file sharing mode because its too vague. I need more complex and in depth file sharing properties for groups/users on my network.
Once i turned off simple file sharing, and went into normal file sharing...I go into a file's security settings, add a user...hit apply. and it freezes.
I went to an already listed user, change some settings and rights...hit apply. frozen.
i'm sitting here looking at the hour glass for 10 minutes, still no change...its not taking my changes and its also freezing up on me.
any ideas?
Tried rebooting...tried some other shares, still nothing.
any help?
I'm a cisco guy, i dont know shit about Mcsft.

I wonder if it was changing the rights on every folder on the HD. I know when I go and change web page documents rights for large amounts of pages it takes a bit.
