I use linux, RedHat (and debian)
It is easy, there is lots of very good help for linux.
My favorite applications run best on Linux (vim, xmms, mozilla to name a few)
the eye candy sooo much linux eye candy.
i guess in a nutshell it is the most configurable OS with the most apps.

Mandrake because I'm new to it and it's a lot of fun. Reminds me of when I bought my first PC. So much to learn and explore. I'm using 98se on my main machine right now. I've almost got enough saved up for XP. When I get good at linux I will dual boot on my main box.
Mike
I've tried Redhat & it's KEWL too! Spelling =

I have a Heinz 57 PC
Win98
WinXP Pro
RH 7.2 - Linux
I love workin with the flexibility of it.
Its also not so dumbed down that you can't do anything with it except games and internet
Its amazing what you can do with it, and the tools available right off fresh install
Its not as gamer friendly as I'd like but hey patience is a virtue

I choose Windows XP Pro because it's clean, runs fast, run stable and works with my hardware nicely.
Also, it's compatible and sounds cool

I’m thinking of trying out Windows.NET as soon as it comes out on trial, I hear it's like Windows XP but equivalent to Windows 2000 Server and even better.

WIN98SE
I run it on multiple boxes at home and I have not seen anything about ME/Win2K/XP that makes me want to pay for another OS. At some point I will switch, when it becomes necessary for some app I am trying to run. Until that day, 98SE is working just fine. |

I voted for Mandrake. I've tried many other distros, but I keep coming back to 'drake. I feel it give me the power and flexability of Linux with out the time consuming need to learn every facet of the OS just to do basic things. |
