Is this outlook or outlook express? If its outlook, did you export it before you formatted? If so in what format?
Theres an import command in the file menu in outlook..see if that works.
--EDIT-- Just read the subject line...sorry its late
The import function should work for Outlook2K |

I use OE6 and Outlook 97 .. but i think the process should go the same ...
In Outlook97 File> Import and Export, new wizard will open to guide through ...
Choose (Microsoft mail Import) from the list and click next .. browse to your backup folder and import your messages...
I think it should go this way to in Outlook 2000 ..

K after a little research I figured it out. I found out where Outlook stores all its data, which is in a format called .PST. So when I went to import into the new Outlook2000 I just used the "Import from another program" option then scrolled down to the "Personal File Folder (PST)" or whatever the option was with PST in it and then found the old file with all my stuff in it and wham bam thank you ma'am Im done!
Obviously I've just installed Win2k on my puter Its a learning process after years of 98 but I like it so far!
thanks Aura for answering my posts so quickly BTW I appreciate it |

Tekk,
If you haven't done so already. MS W2K Is a must. To update, SP2, Security Patches, etc....
I like 2K.
If you spend a bit of time at MS, you can update all the middleware[IE WMP etc] to XP standard, but without the patronising attitude of XP.
You'll quickly find, 2K a much better OS than 98.
Enjoy! R. |

While we are the subject, Get the security patches for OL2K and Other Office 2K Here
Beware: Sometimes, this is not a straight forward procedure.
You may be prompted to d/l an installer first.
Then be redirected all over the place, to get the appropriate patch.
If you are on 56K, some of these patches are big.
Worth the effort though. [I think?]
Have Fun. R. |
