Mine is to noisy & to bright to sleep with it on. Would shutting down the hard disc & monitor work if you wanted your pc to turn on & wake you up? |

Yeah... I leave mine on 24/7 for FAD, mostly...
And yes... It does get a bit hot in here.
Small fee to help saves lives...
Try opening a window and turning on your ceiling fan if you have one... That's what I do... And I'm still alive...
Oh, and happy Halloween, guys.

Like Exreaction, my computer's lights would keep me & the little lady awake if I didn't turn it off, (and I'd never get "any"). I'll take a look at some of these options 'yall listed, but this really is a "hey, look what I did!" kind of thing.
The good old buzzer in the morning does the job, but damn, it would be cool to wake up to the sound of Sacred starting up for a little stroll through Ancaria before work. lol..... |

I like using my cell phone for that, I have downloaded ringtones and use them in the alarm. One problem is getting what you want, the other the phone gets full. It also does not sound as good. I dropped my phone a few weeks ago and now I'm starting over loading new tones into my new phone.
Sure, alot of computers can do that, as mentioned before with the bios, I also think that Suspend Mode can be scheduled to wake up. When the computer is suspended all fans should shut down, so it should be dark and quiet. Some led's stay on, but not the fans.
