Looking for Phone Application

I am looking for an application that will allow me to talk on the phone, on my computer, using only my phoneline. no internet. needs to use mic. and speakers.

so, anybody know of one. plz help. thx.

You need to look for a modem that has the speakerphone feature. That used to be fairly common when the ISA modems were full-hardware. I haven't seen speakerphone jacks on a softmodem in a long while. Most modems that have the speakerphone function have instructions and software to use the feature if needed. The external modem I got from Office Depot a while back has the speakerphone feature. I think it's the OD100 - Office Depot brand.

ok so i take it theres not just an aplication i can use with anyold modem to talk through my computer?

AFAIK, it needs a modem with the speakerphone feature. But I may be wrong because I've never used that feature. Why don't you pop over to the Smith-Micro web site and see if they say what their software requires. I have version 5 so I don't know what changes are necessary for ver.6.
. Logitech used to sell a headset thing that connected to both your telephone and your PC and you could switch between them sort of automatically. Several places were blowing them out a while back.

no the aplication from Smith-Micro dosnt apear to work. anyone else got any ideas?
