Autocad 2002 where can I find reg/auth info?
I built a new pc for this lady whose mobo died.
I need to install Acad2002 on her new machine but , surprise surprise, she cant find the serial/cd key information. She has the cd, though. I slaved her old PC's harddive to see if I could find the info somewhere stored on the machine but can't.
Is there a way to find this information stored on her old HDD?
or is she S.O.L.?

Maybe it is located in the registry of her old machine?
Open up regedit, and Load the Hive(s) for her old computer. (Check the Help Topics if you're unfamiliar with loading hives)
After this, I would navigate to... "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD" and browse around for the CD key.
Please be very careful when messing with the registry... you don't want to turn your own computer into a paperweight!

I doubt you'll find it in the registry. Call AutoDesk.

hahaha turns out it wasn't exactly "legal" afterall. I told her to get a legit copy and we'll go from there.

good call. Just for future notice, that company is really good about keys, and if you lose yours, they're very good about giving you a new one.
