uninstall Linux from duat boot

My pc has two hard drives: one with Windows XP, and one with Red Hat AS 3.0.
How do I unstall Linux from the second drive and reformat the drive without affecting XP?

Thanks,
Jim

According to the article, I could run the lilo command. However, under "Dos Prompt" of Windows XP, there is no such command. Do I need to run the lilo command under Linux?

Thanks,
Jim

If Linux Is Still Installed
At a command prompt, run the lilo command and use either the -u or the -U option. The device name must be the second parameter. The only difference between the two options is that -u checks the time stamp on the current MBR and on the backed-up MBR, and -U does not check the time stamp at all.
lilo -u /dev/hda

lilo is a linux command.

to shorten what the article said

reset the bootloader using the recovery console:
Insert your Windows XP cd into the drive and then restart your computer. When you are prompted, select the "recovery console" option. Follow the on screen instructions until you are logged into what looks like a DOS prompt (don't be fooled, it's NOT a DOS prompt). At the command line type "fixmbr".

restart your computer. notice that the option to boot linux is gone. Once in windows, open control panel->administrative tools->computer management->disk management. right-click on the partition that linux was installed on and select "format".

you're done.
