WMP9 not for XP

Just woundering if anyone knew what the deal was with WMP9 not being available for XP anymore. Don't know why they keep making this player worse, you would think they would make it better. Maybe I will go download version 6.4 again. Is there a brightness filter on WMP10 like there was on 9?
Anyone know were I can pick up a copy of WMP 8 or 9 for XP?

well you can still get it

and xp already has 6.4 installed

go to C:\program files\windows media player\mplayer2.exe (thanks to Out for this bit of information i still find useful to this day)

Yea, I forgot about that.
Thanks for the link. Is there any holes or anything in WMP9 that would make then stop using it, not that this is a reason after all we are still using winblows with all it's holes? I picked up wmp9 not to long ago, couple months before the hdd crash. Wasn't a problem finding it then, seems like mircosoft love to push people onto the newer versions. Even if people hate them.

if you are concerned about vunerabilities i suggest you look at some secruity websites and they will give you an idea what issues there is with running Media Player 9

Thinking it was WMP8 that I wanted, course now there's no way to uninstall wmp9. Had 10 and rolled back to 9 and it wont uninstall, tried deleting the keys from the registry and the setup file from the inf folder rebuilds. Tried deleting the damn files in the wmp folder and they rebuild, I can't recall having this much trouble removing viruses and spyware. Leave it to Mirco and soft bill gates to build some dumb c##p like this.
