There is no corporate edition of win2k.

Corporate edition is winxp (which means no activation) which is used in enviroments with alot of pcs

If you have a win2k cd you can install it with the key

Not sure what a donated versions is. but it has to be the same version. For example, my OEM product Key won't work with my Full Version disc.

Does the CD Key have "OEM" in it anywhere? If so then it's an OEM key and you'll need an OEM Win2K CD. If it doesn't then you'll need a normal retail version CD.

You can usually get them off of eBay for cheap. You could try contacting MS since you have the key. I'm just not sure if they would send media though since they want to shove XP down our throats.

If you can still boot the laptop, copy ALL the files from the I386 folder. This contains everything you need to install. You must copy all the files including the empty folders for it to work.

Never mind, i got my self a keyed edition. And for all of those who are wondering, the donated edition is where you can install win 2k pro without a key.

um all win2k operating systems have keys, there are installs that automagically put in the key so you dont.

(or its an image cd not an operating cd)
