    Bananas?

Um, try this link. Might be what you need. I presume it's a Monkey Audio file.

    APE File

VLC Media Player also will open it, it's a really nice free application that opens practically everything audio and video regardless of format or codecs.

If you install the Monkey's Audio application (a front-end for the Monkey's Audio lossless audio compression codec) it'll also offer to install a plug-in for WinAmp that'll allow WinAmp to play .ape files.

As he said, VLC plays about every video/audio formatted file. Its also really good for watching movies from dvds and such.

I have some ape files. They tends to be single file images of entire CDs rather than single tracks. VLC plays the whole of the planets suite by Holst, silently in about 30 seconds.

The file plays fine in MediaMonkey but Switch converter failed to create a working mp3 and neither the ape or the mp3 play in VLC

Cool How to open .ape file format?

VLC player, yes, it works, and it has double volume, (or used to until new WMP 10), but playlist and file access is a pain, and my G-Force visualization won't connect to VLC, so I open .ape files with Audacity, a free Audio editor, and then export them as .wav files, then anything will open them.
