| Possible to Custom install Windows XP Service Pack 2?
I needed to know if there was some way to avoid installing certain components of Service Pack 2. When I install it, it fixes a hard drive issue where my second hard drive comes up as dynamic unreadable after a format. When it is installed though, I have severe graphical distortion with my video card and my DVD Burner does not recognize DVD-RW's that it did without SP2. Any information would be appreciated. |

I did a quick search on Google couldn't find anything directly referencing a custom install.
Do some searching around there might be something somewhere.

Also, check for a firmware update for your DVD burner. Have you updated all possible system drivers? |

I used a program that allows custom installs and slipstreaming of updates but I can't seem to find the name of the darn thing it was similar to windows lite. However I don't think it would allow for only certain components of sp2 it allowed for removal of things like ms messenger and certain other things you might want to avoid

Ya, it is awsome...you can setup it up so it automatically installs everything you want...all you would have to do is tell it what partion you want it on, and if you put in all the info in right(when you made the disk) it applys your S#, and all your settings automatically!
I thought that is the one you meant..but I wasn't completely sure.. |

I messed with Nlite all day and it definitely only allows you to integrate SP2 and not modify it. If anyone comes across anything else that would help, maybe a work around for fixing the dynamic unreadable problem on my second hard drive without installing SP2, please post. |
