Codec Frustration! - Tech Support Forums

Ever since i installed XP I've had several issues with missing audio and video codecs, or so says the error notice. It was a missing video codec for M edia Player and now it's an audio codec (161) when I tried to play song I downloaded with Napster. I click 'Help' which takes me to the internet to look for the relevant codecs, I download and install them, but, alas, I still get the same crap! I hate this. Any ideas and thanks?

Download and install K-Lite Codec Pack... it has 98% of any codecs you should ever need to playback media

The one I installed IS the one nunyadam listed. That's why I came here to ask what gives because it didn't fix the problem. I'll try the K-Lite and see if that helps. Thanks guys.

get gspot and see what the program says about the video file you are trying to play
