NO Taskbar??? Huh?? Help, Please
Installed a Wireless NIC card tonight, as well as new AIM triton...
Also noticed my speakers were not working, so I tried to re-install their driver. When it asked me to restart the CPU, I get no taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Running Windows XP. Driver is old disk for SB Live!
Everything seemed to be working fine as far as the numerous restarts of the computer until I tried to restart after "installing" SB Live!
Any ideas on how to get my taskbar/start menu back?

Try bring your mouse to the bottom of your screen and watch for the cursor to change to two arrows, left click and hold and then drag up. If that dosent work, try going all the way to the bottom and right clicking. If you see properties, click it and then uncheck lock taskbar, and then repeat the first step. Do you have desktop icons?

You can also try ctrl alt delete, and under processes end explorer.exe, then file run and type in just explorer.exe - ok. It will reload the windows interface, tho I cant amagine it would help, if its doing it after restarting your PC too. Besides that, I could only reccomend *gulp* system restore and just disk cleanup and defragment you hard drive after it (programs -accesories- system tools- defragment)

Yeah... I have got icons.... everything seems to work.. just no taskbar. I cannot minimize windows, because they just go away.
This is irritating as hell....

open the control panel and go to the taskbar/startmenu and unlock it turn off autohide?? also make sure you have it set to be on top of other programs. I recall an old issue with a spyware program that did something funky like this

You can get to your minimized programs by pressing ALT+Tab and holding and then pressing tab to cycle through the list that comes up
