Topic: I'm looking to go out and purchase some mid-level to high-end Movie making software, I'm kind of bored with this Windows Movie Maker and just isn't what I think I should be using.. Please help. :)...

I'm looking to go out and purchase some mid-level to high-end Movie making software, I'm kind of bored with this Windows Movie Maker and just isn't what I think I should be using.. Please help.

So, did you go with Sony Vegas? A couple of other good ones would be Adobe Premiere Elements or Ulead Video Studio 9. I have heard some bad things about Pinnacle Studio 10 about freezes and such.

Ditto on Pinnacle. I have always used Premiere, and it works fantastic. Lots of filters, you can import layers files from Photoshop, which means you can animate or apply filters to one layer and not another, and it works seamlessly with After Effects. IMHO, go with Premiere.
