cannot uninstall program/software

I installed Cheyenne Bitware for Windows for the fax program. When I try to un-install it, I get an error message that says some file is missing and "this program cannot be uninstalled without this file". Im trying to hook up a All In One Printer/scanner/copier/fax machine and not having any luck. I currently have a V.90 ESS DSI data/voice/fax modem installed in my machine, but I need a way to uninstall Bitware. add/remove programs, it does not even show up in there, Iver tried reinstalling it, the removing it, but it says a file is missing and cannot uninstall the software. how can I fix this? thanks

sounds like a poor uninstaller on the part of the developers. you might need to use some registry cleaning utility to get rid of it.

are you getting any specific errors installing the printer/fax? if so and bitware is the problem, it sounds like the install of bitware may have registered some dll or some other system file that conflicts with the software for the new printer.

you might want to look for the problem on the manufacturer of the printer's support page, as it is likely they have run into this problem before with similar software and thus have a fix to allow you to install their product.
