Thanks filipion, i will try it sometimes this weekend. I have to reinstall XP first because i'm on Vista build 5365 for now and would like to have it dual booting with xp mainly because vista is not up to the task yet and still having some issues. |

I would like to do it but my C drive is 10 Gig and Vista is taking 7.3 gig on it. I formated my drive this morning, well i formated my entire 120 gig because i was having 3 partitions on it, did a 30 gig for the C drive and the rest for the D drive.
I will try tonight to install XP first and Vista second hoping that it will be possible to dual boot them. With Vista Ultimate 5365 nothing is sure for now, some options are not working within the OS so i don't know if it's going to work.
I want to start with XP first because i need a full operational OS to work with and actually Vista is not giving me what i need.
My audigy 2 Platinum can not be install, no drivers for it yet, my board is an Asus A7N8X Deluxe and no drivers for it either so there is some problems. I have programs that won't work also on Vista so i need a full operational OS to be able to do my things.
Thanks filipino |

By the way, interesting reading following the link that you posted filipino. It seems that there is some issues in Dual Booting XP and Vista.
I will try it anyway because my version seems to be more recent and see what it does.
I'll post the results here when it's done working or not.... lol |

Update on Dual Booting XP and Vista.....it's working
My C drive was 30 Gig so i decided to give 10 Gig for XP and 20 for Vista.
By splitting the C drive i have now on my first HD: C for XP, D for my programs and F for Vista. The E drive is a second 120 Gig HD that i have for backups and other stuff ( I have 2 x 120 Gig HD).
On bootup i have this black screen which let me choose which OS i want to bootup to so i can decide XP or Vista.
Some people were having problems with the internet connection going back to XP when Vista is install but for me it's working. The new IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) does not seem to affect my connection which is from my router.
Vista is not having any drivers for my Audigy 2 Platinum and same for my Asus A7N8X Deluxe board and some yellow spots are in the Device Manager in Vista but internet is working, i can not change Aero Glass for another color but it's fine.
Mainly it's working and that's what i want. |

Makaveli, Vista was suppose to be out in january 2007 but will be out most likely later than that. Microsoft wants to make sure that it will be a good working OS and doesn't want to make the same mistake than ME so if there's no testing there will be more to fix even if there will be fixes anyway.
Testing is the only way to improve the software. Any recommendations made by people that are testing it are important because there is a whole lot range of users that can feel and work with this software so they can see if there's anything that can be change or fix.
I'm also having a small computer repair workshop and for people like me it's important to see what Vista is going to be. I already fix some problems with my version and i'm glad that the information is actually out there so that it's possible to learn from it.
The 5365 build is a lot better than the other ones and i just can't wait for the definitive version next year. Ultimate looks to me a bit crowded and i'm not too crazy about some of the options but it is going to be the next one so i'll enjoy it for now. |
