Shared calendar that sends invites to all that view the calendar

I hope someone here can help me out. I have a user that has shared
their calendar. The user is running Outlook 2000 off of Exchange 2003.
When the user gets an invite to a meeting, the deligates that share the
calendar get the invite as well. The user only shared the calendar giving read only rights to it. Is there a way of preventing this but
still be able to share the calendar? Thanks for the help in advance.
