Well, I don't get into the paid stuff, but for the best you do have to pay. The best AV I have ever tried is Avast, the best firewall I have tried is Sygate, and Adaware SE is a great anti-spyware program. |

EXreaction, which version of Avast do you suggest? I've been looking at it and just wondering if Home or Professional have any real differences.

Get free Avast - works great for home users. Anti Vir is also very good. Adaware and/or Spybot for antispyware.

I second ex...but I'd just like to add the free version of ewido to the list as well as periodic scans with hijack this to just see what's going on on the computer . Scans with a program like f-secure's backlight are a good idea as well (rootkit detecter)! |
