| Vista RC-1 Dual Boot Problem
I just installed Vista RC-1 in replace of my Vista Public Beta 2 and I still have my XP Pro on a seperate partition on my hard drive.
When booting up the computer it never gives me the option to pick my operating system and when I go into my startup settings it only says that I have Vista on my computer.
I know for a fact that XP is still on there because all of my files still exist of that partition. Under the startup settings, it is set to give me 30 seconds to choose between my OS's but it doesnt recognize my XP.
Does anyone have any clue how to fix this so I can boot both OS's? |

Yes. Sorry if I was unclear as to what my problem was.
Since the computer does not recognize my XP I does not give me the option to boot it when the computer is started. |

if you have the XP disk, put it in and start recovery console,
and type in Bootcfg /list
and see if it lists both OS's not sure what it will do about vista though |

Since I just installed Vista I have no problem if anything happens to that partition because I can just re-load my public beta 2.
I would just like to be able to access my XP again.
Where do I load the recovery console from though... I dont see the option on the CD? |

ok go into control panel, and go to administrator tools,
click on system config, go to boot, and see if XP is on the list |
