Windows Vista Latest version of Windows, coming to a store near you soon.

Cheers
Mick

edit: BTW, you should ask to have this moved to the correct forum. Since you didn't know what Vista was, though, it's not your fault.

PM a mod (if there is one online right now). Mods are in the list of forum users in bold.

Cheers
Mick

Hmm, only the forum owner ScottW is visible. Dunno if he does mod duties anymore. Leave it, I'll send a PM...

Try here for starters.

Don't worry, everyone starts somewhere.

Big tip: use the search function if you aren't sure of something you think you need to ask. If you can't find it in search, then ask away!

Cheers
Mick

For those of you who don't want to click on the link, I can give you what I know.
Windows Vista, codename Longhorn, once had 3 main pillars for which why you should upgrade.
Pillar 1- Aeroglass, or the new 3D interface, for which you would need a graphics card to run, or you could run a simple 2D interface. This would also make your computer slow down from XP.
Pillar 2- WinFS, or the new File System (like NTFS). It would make searching far easier, and would speed things up. They have scrapped it, though, and I don't think they'll make it part of a Windows update.
Pillar 3- Next Generation Secure Computing Base (NGSCB), which would make computing much safer, has been postponed.
There are several other not so important features that were not dropped, and look pretty interesting, like disc management, which will allow resizing of disc partitions without clearing them.
The link is pretty informative, BTW.

You're right about WinFS....M$ completely scrapped the new file system....so I guess we're stuck with NTFS?
