fresh install wth just the upgrade disk
A friend of mine has had me to build him a computer I came over today to install XP that he just had delivered to realized it was the upgrade disk.....is there a way that i can do a complete fresh install of XP with just the upgrade disk....

You can boot off the XP cdrom and then it will ask you to validate by putting in a older version of Windows into the CD drive.

Yes if you have an older OS CD. If you have, say, a Win98 CD you can start the XP install. Once it is underway it will tell you that there isn't a previous Windows install. When you get this message remove the XP CD and put the Win98 disk in the CD drive. It will get the needed information then ask for the XP CD to be re-inserted and you can finish the XP installation.

i dont have an older one handy.....is there a boot cd or something i can make?
