Ive heard KillDisk is a good program for your need.

Although, you shouldnt need to use such a program when reformatting.

I need to reinstall XP onto my computer. The reason why I have to try to delete my entire contents is because Im having a really big problem getting the reformatting process to work correctly. I have a SONY Vaio and my recovery disks were not working, so I tried to reformat using my friends XP disk with my serial number, it worked, but now my computer is really messed up. I can't access the internet from it, nothing is on there and its just not right in any way. So I wanted to try to delete my hard drive and then go from there.

What do you mean by not right, it does not have the same stuff on it, that it did with your restore disk,
Your restore disk may have some utility’s on it, and some programs like MS works, or MS money,
Maybe some antivirus program, firewall maybe,
What is your restore disk doing that it don’t work?

You need to download and install all the drivers after reformatting. Such as network, video, sound, etc.......
Reformatting takes more than inserting a single OS cd.....

For Sony VAIO you can install XP using any XP CD and the installation key that you receive with your computer and then you should have another CD with all the drivers on it so that after XP is there, install all the drivers using the second CD and it should be working like new

Their web site is also having the drivers for your computer so a little research and you'll be fine....

Hey. I remember you trying to help me out before on this problem, thanks for sticking with me on this one. I finally got XP to format properly, but I STILL can't load the drivers onto my computer. When I go to install them, it throws up the message that the program was not intended to run on my model of computer. So, I still can't install anything, have no net, and nothing really works since I have virtually no drivers. I clean swiped the hard drive before I installed XP. I don't know what else to do, any more ideas to help me out???
