How to enable DMA mode in XP Pro?

How do I enable DMA mode on my drives in XP Pro or how can I check if they are running in DMA mode already. New to XP from 98SE and I'm really lost. Just built it recently and would like to optimize my PC. Any help?

UDMA is enabled by default. But there's a problem in intel chips with udma66.
Some programs will allow you to enable it, don't know alot about that since I'm in favor of AMD.

right click on my computer on your desktop

    click properties

    click Harware

    click Device Manager

go down to IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and click the "+" sign beside it

double click either the Primary or secondary IDE Channels

    then click on Advanced Settings

    then choose your transfer mode

Choices are PIO or DMA if available

if you have an ultra DMA capable drive in your system XP will choose it
