CDRW Software in XP?
My dad was telling me this morning he reckons he read in this XP book about there being built in Software in XP to allow you to burn CDR's or CDRW's. I assured him there wasn't but he insisted that this book said there was. Any thoughts people?

There is some kind of built in software. When I put a blank cd into my burner, a windows opens that allows me to add files and burn them onto the cd.

Yes, XP comes with a built in data burner that uses the method packet writing software uses. However, it doesn't have the feature to make a CD to CD copy as far as I know...

NDC got it right. It's actually (quite ironically i think) Roxio based software. It can burn to cdrw's but does not support CDRW packed writing AFAIK.

The default burning software in XP isnt too bad, IMO. As stated, it has limitations, but for starters its not a bad utility. I use it in conjunction with CloneCD (depending on needs) and have all my burning needs met without spending a lot for other software.

Very well infact! Ubuntu is treating me nicely. I've tried many other distros and found a couple that I like even better (interface wise). Pinguy-OS looks and feels real nice and I absolutely love...
distro best suited for me? I've...
