backup software

Can anyone recommend a solid backup software.

Something that is stable and will take an "image" of the specified....

Most important is stability.

I had nightmares with backing up .pst and Outlook...

A lot of us use Acronis True Image

I like Acronis True Image because you can ceate a boot cd and use it to restore a backup. Also you can "mount" a backup file and look through it and copy and paste files you might need without having to run a total restore of a drive.

Ghost used to be the industry standard but it is no longer the original Ghost. Symantec bought out Power Quest and now use Power Quest's Drive image as the consumer version of Ghost.

Backup as in the entire drive or just important data?

I make a backup of the system drive using Ghost right after installing, but that's the only time I do this.

I back up important files weekly to an external drive using Synctoy (free from M$).

Do you have XP Pro?

If so you have a great one called ASR - Automated System Recovery.

If not Acronis I hear is good. Ghost has shafted me everytime I needed it the most.
