good morning,
I have installed outlook 2007 on my machine, its been running fine for over a month or so. last friday i started having a issue, everytime i open a email (regardless if its new or old) i get a dialog box that states "could not install the custom actions, the object could not be found". I then click ok and i can proceed. this only appears with outlook 2007 not 2003 or xp (onother machines) any ideas what could be causing this?
thanks |

How did you install Outlook? Off a cd or a company server?

Are you still having the issue :P Well, in case anyone else is:
Issue: “could not install the custom forms” error in Outlook 2007 suddenly occuring with every email opening action.
Solution: clear forms cache
Method (menu navigation) : Outlook > Tools > Options > Other > Advanced > Custom Forms > [increase storage allocation and/or Manage Forms > Clear Cache]

| Form cache file problem in Outlook 2007
I get a slightly different error message when I open an e-mail message, task, etc. in Outlook 2007. It just started today. Rebooting didn't help (I had hopes!). This is the error message I get:
Could not install the custom actions. The form cache file 'C:\Documents and Setting\Holden.Local Settings\Application Date\Microsoft\FORMS/FRMCACHE.DAT' is not valid. Contact your administrator.
When I follow your cache clear instructions below, I click on Clear Cache and up pops this error message as above.

Trying renaming the FRMCACHE.DAT to something like FRMCACHE.OLD, or any new extension in order to force Outlook to recreate the file.
You'll need to have "hide file extensions for known file types" unchecked in your Tools > Folder Options > View settings for Windows Explorer (or My Computer) file browser in order to ensure your extension name change takes properly (sometimes it will still work...sometimes it will not).
