MS Outlook outbox Problem

Hi everyone, just want to make everything short. My outlook holds my messages in the outbox and I can't delete them after sending them. Also, it does not appear in the Sent Items. As for the recipient they are complaining of the multiple copies of the email I sent. Please help & thanks.

Close Outlook. Reopen it and let it do it's sending receiving thing. When that's done try deleting the file or moving them to the drafts folder.
