Bsod 0x05 win32k.sys ram not bad
Alright, I'm Spent.. ni have replaced everything in my computer to test whats wrong with it i always get the 0x05 error with win32k.sys as the problem and sometimes even an unexplained error while installing windows that has no BSOD code with it. I have replaced my ram and its fine in fact the old ram was good. i replaced my mobo i replaced my hard drive and cables. i replaced my video card . but i have not replaced my cpu because everything ive read on forums and google etc. for the past 4 months trying to fix this says that its not the cpu. i dont think my cpu is overheating.. could this cause the problem im experiencingwhen i turn off caching and shadowing my computer runs fine. but very slow of course. i have updated the drivers for my graphics card and mobo. and everything else i could but no luck. i havn't allowed the windows updates onto my computer after sp2 though mabey this is the problem?? but i cant try it because the new validation code update prevents me from loggin back on to see if it worked or not. and its hard to just buy another windows os knowing that you might have to reinstall it again and waste 120 bucks.
Lanparty UT Ultra D. mobo
AMD anthlon 3800+ cpu
BFG Nvidia 7600 graphics card
2x 1 gb OCZ ram
Windows xp prof. w/sp2
ive heard that sp2 doesnt like nvidia drivers but the driver is windows based and never brings up a graphics driver
Should i bite the bullet and spend another 120 or is there some other unfathomable explination to this?
Thanks for all imput

The stop 0x00000050 error code is like a "key code" to the solution.
Introduction to Stop Errors
"Stop errors in a nutshell are errors that are serious enough to cause Windows to stop. They are similar to the blue screen errors that were present on Windows 9x, however there is no option to try and resume the session in a Windows NT Stop Error (Windows 2000 and all XP members included)."

And when you searched on the stop code, what did you find?

i found out it might be a memory error but i have new memory and have 5 different pieces of ram to test it with and i still have the same issues i have found also that it might be a corrupt file but im sure its not becasue of how many times i have reinstalled windows and with a few different xp prof. discs. the only other thing i found was that it may be third party software but i turned off the nvidia drivers(the only non microsoft drivers) and have gotton no results mabey my graphics card is non compatible with either of the mobos im using???

ok today i decided to try some random stuff to see if it would work. even though i know my memory is fine i moved them around my new mobo and got different bsod's for different spots i just got a 0x00000026 saying theres somthing wrong with cdfs.sys. and another says 0x00000024 with something wrong with the ntfs.sys. could i possibly have a bad windows disk or something?
but i still am having major issues and it seems by the way it looks that no one else has had these exact issues but most people have experienced problems with nvidia cards

What are your voltages and temperatures? You can go into the BIOS (usually press DEL at statup) and check them in the PC Health Monitoring page. Write them down and post back here what you find.
Also, what power supply are you using? What is the brand, model, and wattage? What are the voltage and amp ratings? It should be printed on the label of the power supply.

My power supply i a brand new Enermax NoiserTaker II 485wts.
+3.3v - 32A
+5V - 32A
+12V1 - 22A
-12V - 0.6
+5Vsb - 3A
i had the same problems with my other psu it was a raidmax so i figured it was bad but it wasn't depite the bad name brand. My actual readings are:
+3.3V - 3.40
+5V - 4.99
+12V - 12.09
+5Vsb - 5.02
Battery Voltage - 3.16
CPUCore Temp. - 37-40C
PWMArea Temp - 44-47C
Chip Set Temp - 51C
also i noticed the problems do go away when i tun off both system cache and external cache. shadowing doesnt bother my system at all.

You've got a good power supply and the voltages looks OK. The chipset temp is a little high. Try pointing a small fan at it and see if it cools down. If it doesn't, then try removing, re-greasing, and reinstalling the heatsink. It might not be making good contact with the northbridge chip.
Also, with performance ram, you may need to increase the voltage to get it stable.

makes sence
thanks that makes alot of sence ive heard of people having that problem before. ill give it a try and let you know how it goes as for the north bridge chip are you talking about the cpu or the chip with the small fan on it? BTW i constantly have a case sized fan on the whole system (free of dust) on it to keep it cool i didnt have it on when i was testing the temps. thats why i didnt feel like it was an overheating problem. what causes blue screens with no error report on them when you try to install windows i get that alot saying an unexpexted error occoured with no code.

The northbridge heatsink is the smaller one mounted on the "northbridge" chip on the motherboard, not the big CPU heatsink.

hopefully too soon?
so i put in a new cpu an anthlon 64 dual core 3800+ its more than a few steps up from my old one and so far after 20 minutes i havnt had any crashes i know thats not nearly long enough to be sure but i figured i'd give an update. i didnt have a screwdriver small enough to detach the northbridge fan to get to the heatsink but i applied arcticsilver 5 to my new cpu and it runs at 39 still im hoping for a steady decrease as it promises that of course takes 200 hours (long time.. ) ill be applying new paste to the northbrodge soon as i can get a screwdriver. anyway thanks for the help it means way more than you know.

here you can see a comparison of the 7850 vs GTX 570 (GTX 560 Ti 448 is reduced spec 570, so the 448 Core would be close to the 7850 in performance, if not just behind it a hair): AnandTech |...
